About

Welcome to The Management Maven blog.  Here you’ll find practical advice on:

  • Moving from entry-level to management, fast.
  • Becoming an effective and respected people manager.
  • Taking control of your career and finding work that lights you up.

About me?  I’m Bernadine Herlihy.  I have a degree in Anthropology and an MBA.  My career has run the gamut, from tech to manufacturing to non-profits.  If I had to point to a common thread running throughout, it would be that I have always been quick to move up the ranks.  While I don’t attribute this to any rare talent on my part, over the years I have worked out the underlying attitudes and strategies that helped me be seen as a leader early on.  I’d like to share what I’ve learned with you.

Thanks for reading!

Hi! First of all, compliments on your blog. I’m not sure if you’ve heard of/been previously nominated for a Liebster Award, but I would like to nominate your blog. Your posts are entertaining, and I would love to read your responses to my ten questions. Check out my latest post if you have the time/are up for the challenge!
    Thanks in advance,
